In Hindhusim Voboothi Or bhasma(ash) is the scared ash which is made of burnt dired wood in Hindu VEDIC ➕ AGAMIC rituals. Hindu devotes apply Voboothi traditionally as three horizontal lines across the forehead and other part of the body to honor SHIVA. Voboothi smeared across the forehead to the end of both eyebrows is called TRIPUNDRA.
Another meaning of vihuti is a "glorious form" In contrast with AVATAR, a reincarnation of BRAHMAN.

How should we apply scared ash?
Traditionally, Voboothi is taken between your thumb and your ring finger-you don't have to pick up alot of it, just a little bit-and applied between the eyebrows known as AGANA CHAKRA, at the pit of the throat knows as the VISHUDDHI CHAKRA, and in the center of the chest where the ribcage meets, knowns as the ANAHATA CHAKRA.
Voboothi is usually applied at the ANAHATA so that you receive life as love. Health benefits of applying Voboothi: Voboothi Or bhasma is the ash or the remnant of auspicious fires(dhuni). Generally certain types of grains, some herbs, ghee and wood are offered to the auspicious fire and the ash is the product of all of those ingredients which have so many health benefits.
